The Story
Washburn Hawk – Vintage Attitude. Proper Muscle.
The Hawk is one of those cult ‘70s designs that people who know absolutely love. It wasn’t just a guitar – it was part of Washburn’s bold Wing Series era, when they were building serious, no-nonsense instruments for real players.
This modern Hawk keeps that DNA intact.
You’ve got the unmistakable double cutaway shape, a proper neck-through build for sustain and stability, and a pair of custom-voiced high-output humbuckers that absolutely deliver. Thick, punchy, articulate – but with more versatility than the original thanks to push-pull coil splits.
So if you want classic rock authority but the ability to dial back into single-coil snap when needed, this does it beautifully.
It’s vintage in spirit — but far more usable in the real world.
Why I Like It
-
Neck-through construction = sustain for days
-
Swamp ash body = clarity and punch
-
Proper humbuckers with coil splits = serious flexibility
-
That ‘70s double-cut shape looks so cool
It feels like a guitar built to be played hard despite its beauty.

It’s a player’s guitar.
And that’s exactly why I like it.
